Regardless of format or purpose, drawing has always been at the heart of Nathalie Du Pasquier’s artistic process. Chose Commune, a french publishing house dedicated to photography, has offered her to conceive one of the first volume of their new “Coup de Crayon” collection, centered on drawing. Entitled Andata-Ritorno, this monography showcases a series of drawings made during the summer of 2018: displayed as diptychs, these pencil-drawn sketches form roundtrips between abstract constructions and everyday objects, between the artist’s mental projections and the observations of her surroundings, essence and periphery.
