Nigel Peake was born in Downpatrick (Northern Ireland) in 1981. After studying architecture, he now devotes himself to drawing. His two favorite subjects are, paradoxically, city and nature. His cities are spaces filled with geometry and color, in which it seems impossible to navigate except with your eyes. Nature, on the other hand, is seen either from very far away, either from a very close point. Nigel Peake detects shapes and patterns as a geologist would. The materiality of the natural elements becomes a way to draw in a pattern-like manner, like a set of abstractions.
Geometry, rasters and colors are his tools to describe the world as he observes it through his window, in the Irish countryside, or in the megalopolises of this world.
