Détails de l'évènement
For about thirty years, Dolorès Marat has been building a sensitive and bewildering photographic work, off the beaten path. Her universe is inhabited by sleepy cities, solitary characters, velvety skies, landscapes that tip towards colorful dreams. Whether she is in Paris, New York, Egypt or Italy, she captures the precise moment when the ordinary becomes marvelous, turning a trivial scene into a sublime theatre set. As a night bird, it is especially at dusk or dawn that she finds that special light, which gives her images their cloudy texture and powdery, painterly tonality.
For her exhibition at the Studio, Dolorès Marat had selected some sixty photographs from various series, deliberately mixing times, places and subjects, like a large, multifaceted kaleidoscope. Her images, fragments of intersecting and responding narratives, tell us about the whirlwind of time, the sweetness and transience of our lives.
