The first edition of Laterna magica—that took place from November 26 to December 21, 2004—centered its programming around the idea of Tale, the ultimate imaginary storytelling. More than 50 films, short and long: La Jetée by Chris Marker, La Petite marchande d’allumettes by Jean Renoir, La Planète sauvage by René Laloux, Céline et Julie vont en bateau by Jacques Rivette, Silvestre by João Cesar Monteiro…
Among the exhibitions, you could see Aline Ahond’s photographs, some Polish posters (Jan Lenica, Roman Cieslewicz, Stasys Eidrivegicius, Henryk Tomaszewski…), a group show around tale’s realm (with originals by Henri Meunier, Paul Cox, Marcel Tillard, Emmanuele Luzzati…) and much more! For instance, “best intentions’ cartoons” a cinematographic intervention by Paul Cox at the Le Miroir cinema.
