On the occasion of Marseille-Provence 2013, Fotokino is celebrating the 10th edition of its Laterna magica festival and makes itself at home all year round: exhibitions, workshops, screenings, audio walks, meetings... for everyone!
At the Studio Fotokino:
Every first weekend of the month, a festive moment opened the ball and was the starting point of a new exhibition. Located in the heart of the city, this transversal space transformed itself for each exhibition. The invited artists had carte blanche—a map without scale or landmarks, a map to move points of view and reverse the logic of the world. With 10 exhibitions from March to December, by Atak & Gudrun Haggenmüller, Jenni Rope, Charles Fréger, Muriel Moreau, Karine Rougier, Jochen Gerner, Yto Barrada, Paul Cox, Gianluigi Toccafondo, Kitty Crowther, Isidro Ferrer, Fanette Mellier and Emmanuel Van der Meulen.
At the J1:
Marseille-Provence 2013 commissioned Fotokino to conceive a graphic design workshop within the J1, Atelier du large. The Fabrique de Fotokino (Fotokino’s Factory) invited eight graphic designers to orchestrate each month in a different and playful way the tools used daily by designers, therefore allowing everyone to experiment this discipline through different media, materials and techniques. With proposals from Benoît Bonnemaison-Fitte, Sacha Léopold and François Havegeer, Helmo, Patrick Lindsay, GUsto, Tom Henni, Grégoire Romanet and Fanette Mellier.
