Détails de l'évènement
Images are created from ordinary objects, then words are laid out, and other images appear, along with other words. Just as we put one step behind the other to leave, Frédérique Bertrand’s images and words construct stories and outline imaginary paths. Slowly, everyday life lets go of its bearings and reinvents itself through dreams.
Frédérique Bertrand is an image maker. Illustrator, author and artist, she has been working, since her graduation from the Nancy School of Fine Arts in 1993, for the press and publishing in France and abroad, and has also showed her work in numerous exhibitions. She has been awarded at the International Biennial of Illustration for Youth in Barreiro (Portugal) and at the Fiera del libro per ragazzi in Bologna (Italy). Her latest books, the Pyjamarama series, are a huge editorial success. Using ombro-cinema, an ancient animation technique, the artist and her accomplice Michaël Leblond took us on a stroll through landscapes that animate before our very eyes. A mysterious and magical astonishment remains impressed on our pupils.
Paintings, collages, drawings, books… young and older alike were invited to (re)discover in this exhibition her incomparable line and boundless imagination. A little hut sheltered a selection of books that the youngest could consult while listening to the sound of Jean Poinsignon’s composition.
