Exposition collective • « Regards sur 40 ans de littérature jeunesse dans le monde arabe » 2013

Détails de l'évènement

As an introduction to our exceptional programme at the Studio, on the occasion of Marseille-Provence 2013 and the 10th edition of Laterna magica, we opened the year with a pop-up library dedicated to children’s literature in the Arab world. This library presented a selection of about a hundred children’s books published over the past 40 years in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Sudan… which were at the disposal of the visitors, to be read on-site.

Two artists were invited to accompany this event: Samah Idriss, author of children books published by Dar al-Adab lil-Sighar, the publishing house of which he is the director in Beirut, and Walid Taher, illustrator, author and artistic director of the Dar al-Shorouq publishing house in Cairo. A public talk at the Alcazar Library was organized, as well as several readings and workshops.
