Formes Vives is a communication agency formed by three graphic designers: Adrien Zammit, Nicolas Filloque and Geoffroy Pithon, respectively based in Marseilles, Brest and Nantes. Their work mixes an interest in political and social issues with a graphic, non-conformist and activist practice that take over multiple media, ranging from newspapers and posters, to books and installations. They particularly enjoy meddling with various graphic design fields and interfering with prevailing codes, and are therefore considered as a truly atypical group in their area.
Invited for a week-long residency at the Studio Fotokino, the three artists conceived an art installation mixing drawings and makeshift objects, symbolizing the elements of balance and instability which make our society stand or slide. The visitors could be part of the device and use it to express themselves, play with the pieces, build new installations or dismantle them as they pleased.
