This year, Isidro Ferrer will set the tone with his sensitive compositions. Collages, tricks, cut-outs and other transfigurations… Laterna magica’s sixth edition had for theme: DIY. Tinkering to make the banal beautiful, the simple poetic. Creating with what was forgotten, making with what is at hand. And when there is nothing left, create from nothing. As Paul Carpita tells us in his movies, imagination alone is enough to build a world. To fiddle about is also to invent. It is making the impossible possible.
DIY therefore, for this 6th edition, with solo shows: Isidro Ferrer, Gianpaolo Pagni, Betsy Dadd, Jean Jullien and Damien Louche-Pelissier. Films by Fischli and Weiss, Emanuele Luzzati, Hermina Tyrlova and Karel Zeman, and lectures and workshops to extend all of these discoveries.
