It’s now been eighth year that Fotokino brings to Marseille, and beyond, its winter event around visual arts.
We articulated our reflection for this new edition around two major exhibitions, “Ed Fella Documents” and “Le Livre, l’Enfant et la Photographe” (The Book, the Child and the Photographer). Graphic design, typography, books, photography, city and lights will be questioned throughout this year’s edition. This eighth edition is also the first one for our Studio, Fotokino’s new home! A modular and living space that has yet to be invented, and in which, as in all our proposals, we don’t set any impenetrable boundaries.
Outside the Studio, partner venues hosted the work of Tom and Bettina Henni, Articho’s authors, screenings of Helen Levitt’s movies, Manuel de Oliveira, Lev Atamanov, but also an original movie-concert Safety Last! at the Théâtre de la Criée.
Meetings with Sarah Moon and Katy Couprie, Gwenola Carrere, GUsto, Patrick Lindsay were also programmed. And, for the first time, we were invited to Paris for a carte blanche at the Musée du Quai Branly: during one week, screenings and workshops with Jochen Gerner, Isidro Ferrer and Aline Ahond!
