The Studio Fotokino was at the heart of this new edition. We presented there an original exhibition of Frédérique Bertrand, our guest of honor, accompanied, during the opening weekend, by about twenty authors, artists and graphic designers for a cheerful preview of our 2013 program: Atak, Jochen Gerner, Yto Barrada, Paul Cox, Kitty Crowther, Isidro Ferrer, Fanette Mellier, Emmanuel Van der Meulen, Benoît Bonnemaison-Fitte, Patrick Lindsay, GUsto, François Havegeer and Sacha Léopold, Helmo, Tom Henni and Grégoire Romanet.
This particular edition was conceived as the prologue to a story to unfold throughout 2013, during which an exceptional programme will celebrate the tenth anniversary of Laterna magica and take place within Marseille-Provence 2013, European Capital of Culture.
With in particular La Fabuleuse fabrique du cinéma at the Alhambra and Le Grand Bazar at the Criée theater, Laterna magica was more than ever the place for creation, curiosity and sharing.
