A new edition of our festival to introduce you to the work of still or moving image makers, from emerging to major artists, and weave unusual links between contemporary creation and heritage. Two exhibitions dedicated to games articulated this edition:
-— “Play (The Rules of the Game)” at Studio Fotokino, showed a kind of graphic design that does not overwhelm us with well-meaning messages, but rather plays with our eyes and our intelligence and draws a field of possibilities. With Nicolas Aubert, Badesaison, Olivier Bersin, Atelier Bingo, Benoît Bonnemaison-Fitte and Fred Fivaz, Paul Cox, Pierre di Sciullo, Ed Fella, Formes vives, Helmo, Julia, Patrick Lindsay, Fanette Mellier, Paper Tiger, Studio Moniker, Raw Color, Pierre Tandille and Samuel Rivers-Moore, Annik Troxler...
— “Play (Design for Martians)” at Château Borély, invited Nathalie Du Pasquier, Max Hattler, Yoko Homareda, Fanette Mellier, Noora Niinikoski, Mathieu Peyroulet Ghilini, Raw Color, Julie Richoz, Jenni Rope, Ettore Sottsass, George Sowden, Matteo Thun. In other exhibitions in the city, the alphabets of Roger Excoffon, the work of David Poullard and Marie Chéné, or Céline Thoué were unveiled.
On the film side, one could discover gems such as Der Lauf Der Dinge by Fischli and Weiss, La rentrée des classes by Jacques Rozier or Zéro de conduite by Jean Vigo. There was also a drawing performance with Renaud Perrin at the MuCEM, and a unique movie-concert by Catherine Vincent, Voyage au pays des fées, at the Alhambra Cinema.
And as each year, workshops: with Jérôme Dumetz at the Château Borély, with Julie Richoz at the CIRVA, with David Poullard at the Alcazar BMVR, with Jérémie Fischer at the Studio Fotokino, or with Antoine Boudin at the Château Borély.
