Détails de l'évènement

Passionate about prints, nourished by popular imagery and contemporary drawings, Mayumi Otero and Raphaël Urwiller founded Icinori during their studies at the Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg. Thanks to this independent studio, which is both a creative workshop and a publishing house, they produce artist’s books, silk-screen prints and engravings, as an artistic duo or on they own.

In just a few years, their visual language—often bordering on the fantastic—has gone beyond Icinori’s framework and the two artists have invented a singular territory that explores the universes of tales, dreams, exoticism and urbanism.

For their exhibition at the Studio, gouache paintings and engravings composed the fragments of a senseless world, like an absurd dystopia with uncertain rules. Bustling characters could be seen building unlikely spaces, pursuing with application their internal logic, in an organized dispersion.

Entêté was published on this occasion, issue number 9 of the Bon plis collection, a series of limited silkscreen prints, co-edited by Fotokino and Nicole Crême.
