Laurence Lagier draws with a pencil or with tape. Fragmented and intuitive shapes intertwine and add up to create scatterings. Sometimes we overlook cities, observe the urban layouts, the hilly circulation of a cartography of colors. Often, architectures are sketched out obliquely, nature makes its way. In her drawings, the eye wanders, browses, in search of familiar objects: ladders, ping-pong rackets, combs, tables. Sometimes it is nothing in particular, just dots and lines, a rhythm, a pattern.
For this new exhibition at Studio Fotokino, Laurence Lagier invited Fanette Mellier to work with her drawings and produce a new graphic object. The result was a series of posters that Laurence used as materials and supports for new drawings.
