Fotokino

The 16th edition of our festival dedicated to visual arts offered ten days of exhibitions, screenings, shows, encounters and workshops in about twenty different venues in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Lauris and Paris.

A platform for discovery and experimentation for all, children and adults alike, Laterna magica once again offered an undisciplined and fresh look at the work of creators of still or moving images, both emerging and major.

Jesús Cisneros, the guest of honour of the festival, who also designed the poster, presented his first solo exhibition in France at the Studio Fotokino. The partner venues welcomed Cristina Daura, Émilie Gleason, Hélène Riff, Alexis Poline and Jin Angdoo, Virginie Morgand, Adèle Verlinden, Pascale Lefebvre, Ramona Badescu, Benoit Guillaume, la Collection Typologie, Magali Brueder, Anouk Ricard and many others...

As for the cinema, Parajdanov's Les Cheveaux de feu was a nod to Jesús Cisneros' work, while the youngest were able to discover Paul Grimault's films and Les Aventures de Jožinko, which were never released in France. They were also able to discover art through practice, in the company of Adèle Verlinden, Emma Grosbois, Virginie Morgand, Clément Vuillier, Sarah Cheveau, Sabine Allard?

Finally, Par hasard (By Chance), the musical and drawing lecture by Ramona Badescu, Benoît Guillaume and Gildas Etevenard closed a very busy festival!
